I've got a beef today... but it's about my hiking group. Those people can't tell the difference between a salamander (non toxic) and a newt (secretes the potent neurotoxin tetrodotoxin, which is hundreds of times more toxic than cyanide)

And the hike leader posted a pix holding Mr Newt..... calling it a salamander. Now they are a type of salamander.... however....

......a salamander than can squirt bad stuff on ya. No touchy touchy!

There. That is my beef for the day. Grrrrrr.....

She turned me into a newt! What a Face

I got better.

I would say, if they can't tell the difference, the best advice for them would be to stay away from both!

I think there is a pretty big problem with people not understanding that wild animals are, well, wild.

They may be cute and cuddly, but that doesn't mean that they want to snuggle.

I agree, Wild animals are supposed to be left alone. They really do not like being annoyed. I love skunks I don't go around grabbing them at every opportunity, and believe me I do have plenty of opportunity affraid

Uh-oh, MC...I hope it doesn't do what one of mine that I spilled lemonade into some years ago did. I turned it upside down right away, shook it and got as much of the lemonade out as I could.

It worked fine for a day or two, so I heaved what turned out to be a premature sigh of relief, because then it started doing weird stuff. I'd be merrily typing along and notice that one or two letters weren't what I intended. Figgered it was just a typo, but no. Soon, it became whole words that were gibberish and finally it was evident that the keyboard was fatally wounded. I gave it a decent burial and bought another.

So, good luck! Maybe coffee doesn't kill them as effectively as lemonade. Dunno.

MC, I made the error of leaving a glass of water near my laptop at home.... and the next day, sure enough, my can Nancy knocked it over and spilled all the water on my open laptop.

(my 'w' through 'p' doesn't function any more)

This will be the third keyboard I've had to replace this year as Nancy also have the habit of picking off the letters with her nimble little paws. I wish I'd had moved that glass and put the computer away before falling asleep... drat, drat, drat.

Jepper Dot and Sakhaiva. I am so darn picky the last keyboard I did in, was with soup, keyboards don't like soup as it turns out, and that one had such a perfect feel, I loved it. I have been using one I do not enjoy for over a years, and have spilled stuff on it and it still worked, only a couple of stuck ones.

But last week a friend got me a used but in perfect condition one, and it feels just right, so naturally I had to spill coffee on it.

I am sorry Dot about your mishaps and you too Sakhaiva, silly cat. they are sometime, jeepers. Embarassed
Thank you guys for sharing, I don't feel quite so silly now. Smile

Mine was just plain dumb, because I remember thinking I probably shouldn't set the glass so close to the keyboard where I might knock it over...moments before I bumped it and dumped the contents into the keyboard. So, don't feel alone in the least, MC.

*Ted marches up to the pulpit and screams at the top of his lungs*

AAAaaaaaaaaaarggggggggghhhhhhh! Angry

I got an email today from my ex asking if I could pick her up from the airport tomorrow. She said her new boyfriend doesn't have a car and she understands if I can't or don't want to. She must have been really desperate to ask me. I told her that I do NOT want to, and to try to find someone else, but if absolutely necessary I could be there. Argh!!

Don't want to be the good guy, but feel you have to? Do you two have a mutual friend who could do this for you?

Well what sucks is I still love her, I've been doing pretty well the last month or so and if I see her I'm going to go all to pieces. The airport is 3 hours away and it would be at midnight (back at 3am) so really nobody else I could ask (but good idea!). She's asking other people she knows and hopefully one will say yes. I don't want her riding a greyhound bus back across the state at 3 am.
