Itty's Place
I have heard that Itty has now passed. Now, while it is entirely possible she will pull a Mark Twain on us, I still thought that our beautiful Itty deserved a memorial. She made a great impact on everyone here. I know I wouldn't be the person I am today, if I hadn't met her.
So welcome to Itty's place. Like the Bear Cave, it is here for us to talk about our triumphs and our losses. It is up to us to make this a place Itty would have wanted to hang out in. And it is up to us to never forget this beautiful woman who was in our lives all to shortly.
— Tori Amos, Bells for Her.

And through the life force and there goes her friend
On her nishiki its out of time
And through the portal they can make amends
Hey would you say whatever were blanket friends
Cant stop whats coming
Cant stop what is on its way
And through the walls they made their mudpies
Ive got your mind I said
She said Ive got your voice
I said you dont need my voice girl
You have your own
But you never thought it was enough of
So they went years and years
Like sisters blanket girls
Always there through that and this
Theres nothing we cannot ever fix I said
Cant stop whats coming
Cant stop what is on its way
Bells and footfalls and soldiers and dolls
Brothers and lovers she and I were
Now she seems to be sand under his shoes
Theres nothing I can do
Can't stop whats coming
Can't stop what is on its way
And now I speak to you
Are you in there
You have her face and her eyes
But you are not her
And we go at each other like blank ettes
Who cant find their thread and their bare
Cant stop loving
Cant stop what is on its way
And I see it coming
And its on its way
— Tori Amos, Bells for Her.

To Itty.
May you see God's light on the path ahead
When the road you walk is dark.
May you always hear,
Even in your hour of sorrow,
The gentle singing of the lark.
When times are hard may hardness
Never turn your heart to stone,
May you always remember
when the shadows fall—
You do not walk alone.
To Itty.
May you see God's light on the path ahead
When the road you walk is dark.
May you always hear,
Even in your hour of sorrow,
The gentle singing of the lark.
When times are hard may hardness
Never turn your heart to stone,
May you always remember
when the shadows fall—
You do not walk alone.

Re: Itty's Place
I didn't know itty persoanlly. We met up a few times on some threads. I knew she was ill, going in the hospital for another test & yet I waited patiently to hear of news. Tonight, after reading of the confirmation of her passing, I went back & read some of her posts.
Amazing, Amazing Woman! My goodness she LIVED life, didn't she? Through laughter (4th of July) & reaching out to others (on all the others) talking frankly about health issues. Cracking jokes, & saying what was on her mind @ the time!
Strength, character, charm, laughter & grace! Thats how I'll remember itty!

Raising a glass of port to Itty.
She paid me a compliment .... coming from her, it was more than I had earned. (Look for me when my time to pass over comes my friend.)

Re: Itty's Place
You know, I had it on my heart to scour the other sites looking for Ittyisms ... and this little bit spoke to me:
"I love to watch the day slide by. I don't feel the need to be in frenetic activity. I don't feel the need to have my space filled with light, noise, sound and movement. Living can be a simple as a cup of coffee, a cat in my lap and watching the kids play in the yard. Life is resting too.
I will do what I can. I will take my joy and try to share it. When the time comes I will bend and I will die. That is what everyone has to do. We don't get out of this world alive."
So beautifully said.... thank you Itty.

Re: Itty's Place
Wasn't she the most wonderful example of courage and good cheer in the face of rotten odds?
I only hope that should anything similar befall me that I'll have the strength to be as frank and matter-of-fact about what I'm experiencing as she was these last few months.

That's why it's a magic punchbowl...ladles out whatever you wish, chilled or steamy. Have at it, JJ.
