Is atheism a religion?

All too often, certain theists like to say that atheism is a religion. This video shows just how ridiculous that statement really is..

No, it is simply the lack of belief or evidence to support the existence of deity...

Those types of thiests just like to try to use ineffective rhetoric and diatribe in a vain effort to refute athiests...

There was a book which was originally published as "I don't believe in athiests", when it made the transistion to a TPB, the title was changed to "When Athiesm becomes a Religion", a telling shift in the mentality and rhetoric of those who seek to discredit and defame athiests.

I just found this thread Rob and I can't agree more with you.

I would rather make connections to good honest people who are firmly set in this world with no expectation of any thing else than to deal with hag-ridden and fearful theists. People who are fearful can be dangerous. They try to jam us into a mold that isn't going to fit. If logical reasoning doesn't work for them then they resort ot other measures. At least I think so.

I'm calling it a religion simply because it gives Rob stomach cramps.

I just noticed something....... Look at Wontbefooledagain's picture. Underneath it gives such needed information as the number of posts he's made, his join date, where he is in the world (location) and of all things... religion.

Aye, but I just love to . However, Won'tbefooledagain knows me well enough to know what I'm doing.

I've been trying to add this quote "It isn't about waiting for the storms to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain." to my tag line for about a week. Can anybody offer some suggestions, or help this poor computer illiterate old man get it added on?

!. Click on Profile at the top of the forum.

2. Click on Signature and add your signature.

3. Save it.

It will not add the signature to your past posts. To see if it is working, post again.

I've done all of that gilly. And nothing. Maybe SG's right.... this board hates us. And we're both so cute and cuddley too....

One thing you might check then is under preferences. Do you have the radio button clicked to always attach your signature?

Yep. I just hadn't considered the existence of a radio button.
