I wish I was quicker with my iphone camera but a car got in front of me the other day with a great sticker:

Christianity has pagan DNA.

Cute but I don't think the average churchgoer would get it.

No, and it really isn't entirely accurate. More accurate to say all religion has pagan DNA.

My favorite is the darwin amphibian about to eat the Jesus fish.

I've seen a take on this with a "TRUTH" fish, swallowing the "DARWIN" amphibian. Car ornament wars... Rolling Eyes

No, I don't think "all" religion has pagan dna. Christianity does, but I'm not so sure about others.

I would always be afraid of having my car scratched or cursed, from either side.

Depends on how you are defining "Pagan." It's such a nebulous term that it could be very accurate, or wildly inaccurate. So it's hard to say.

Yeah. I s'pose you're right. I don't know enough about all versions of pagan, or anything but Xtian, to really argue one way or another.

If you go back far enough, it's a bunch of monkey men dancing around the fire coming up with crazy ideas of "why they are there".

LOL...

I heard a comedian yesterday talking about cults. He mentioned David Koresh and said ...

"How is it not one person asked 'if you're Jesus, why are you wearing glasses?'"

If you want to get etymological about it, EVERY religion has pagan DNA.

"Pagan" comes from the Latin word "paganus" which meant rustic or country dweller.

In short, the original reference was to unorganized folk religions. Things like hearth witchery and such.

It is a modern thing to think of religion as centralized and regulated. The older religions had distinct differences from locality to locality even if they were under an umbrella term.
